Cookie policy

1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small file placed on your device when you visit a website. This policy also covers similar technologies, including local storage and web beacons, used on pitly.net (formerly pitly.fr).
2. Strictly necessary storage
The following information is stored in your browser's localStorage. It is required for the website to work, is never shared with a third party and does not require prior consent under Article 82 of the French Data Protection Act.
cookieConsent: records granular consent choices for analytics and session replay. Retention: 12 months.pitly-theme: remembers your light or dark theme preference. Retention: until deleted.
3. Analytics (PostHog)
If you accept through the consent banner, we use PostHog to measure aggregate website traffic and performance, including page views, traffic sources and clicks leading to the application.
- Purpose: audience statistics and website improvement.
- Legal basis: consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.
- Processor: PostHog Cloud EU, with data stored in Frankfurt, Germany.
- Retention: according to PostHog Cloud settings, with a default period of one year for events.
Identifiers stored only after consent:

If you also accept session replay, a recording identifier is added. Recordings are retained for approximately 30 days in PostHog Cloud EU.
If you reject or do not consent to analytics, no PostHog script runs and no analytics request is sent.
4. Session replay
If you explicitly accept this separate category, PostHog records an anonymised reconstruction of your navigation to help diagnose usability issues.
- Sensitive-data masking: all
inputandtextareafields are masked by default. - Retention: approximately 30 days by default in PostHog Cloud EU.
- Separate opt-out: analytics can be accepted without session replay. Session replay cannot operate without analytics.
5. Managing consent
On your first visit, the banner offers three choices: Reject all, Customise or Accept all. At any time, you can:
- Use the Manage cookies footer link to reopen the preference panel.
- Clear the
cookieConsentlocal-storage key. The banner will appear again on your next visit.
